Tis some visitor," I muttered, "asking for release."
I opened wide the door then, staring into silence and deep night,

"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing"

"Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before."

[Tempo and volume increase slightly. Guitar swell dramatically]
Back into my chamber, burning, soon I heard the tapping more,
Stronger now and more insistent than the single sound before.
I threw the shutter open, with a flutter and a fright,
In stepped the stately Raven, the bird of endless night!

[Music: Doom Metal Climax. The riff becomes its heaviest and most powerful. Vocal is a desperate, soaring cry over layered strings.]

On a bust of Pallas, just above my chamber door, it sits,
Its eyes like burning demons, its shadow never quits.
"Tell me what thy name is," I cried out in the room,
"Is there comfort in the heavens, beyond this heavy gloom?"
Then the bird said, dark and single, just the single sound he bore,
Whispering from the darkness, the dreadful "Nevermore."
